“The obstacle is the way.” – Ryan Holiday
Obstacles – we all face them; they are our guaranteed birthright in life.
What is the best way you can tackle your obstacles so they don’t discourage you and prevent you from attaining your goals?
The answer is always the same – start with your mindset. When you learn to reframe the way you see the word obstacle, you’ve already mastered it.
Tip #1:
View the obstacle as either:
- An Opportunity to Win
- An Exciting Challenge
Once you do that, it’s not so daunting and you’ve taken away its power.
Take sporting events for example. There are constant pressures and challenges in every sport you can think of but the goal is not to focus on the obstacles; the goal is to strategize how to overcome them and win.
Rather than giving so much attention to the obstacle, focus on possibilities; look for opportunities that are available to you. Always have a strategy.
Tip #2:
Narrow your obstacles down. If you focus on the entire picture, you will get discouraged and overwhelmed. Instead, strategize on how you can break the obstacle down into manageable pieces. Focus on only one obstacle at a time and only one aspect of that obstacle.
Don’t allow the obstacles to discourage you but to challenge you instead. That’s where true growth occurs.
Keep believing,
Nothing is Impossible
